Muse Code, Meta's coding agent, can start local servers on your computer and use their tools. MyLinedChart's connector is one of them, so Muse Code can read the chart you have open, with exact prices for your levels and indicators, and propose drawings you approve. Setup is one entry in Muse Code's settings file.

Before you start

You need Muse Code installed on the same computer as MyLinedChart, MyLinedChart open, and Node.js for the connector.

Get the command from MyLinedChart

  • Open MyLinedChart and click AI in the chart toolbar. If the AI panel shows a chat instead of the setup, click AI settings.
  • Under Use the AI app you already have, the connect cards are listed. If an AI app is already connected, the cards are folded away: click Connect another AI app to show them.
  • Find the Codex card and click Copy. The part after the two dashes is the command and its arguments, for example npx -y @mylinedchart/mcp-chart-context.

Add it to Muse Code, step by step

  • Open ~/.config/muse/settings.json in a text editor. Keep everything already in the file, including schema_version.
  • Inside mcp_servers, add an entry named mylinedchart with "command" set to the first word (npx or node) and "args" set to the rest as a list, for example ["-y", "@mylinedchart/mcp-chart-context"].
  • Save the file and restart Muse Code.
  • Ask Muse Code to read your chart, and approve the tool call when it asks.
  • Back in MyLinedChart, the AI panel shows a green dot and AI connected with the app's name once the connection is live. If the dot stays red, quit and reopen the AI app with MyLinedChart running.

What to ask

  • Read my chart and describe the setup in natural language.
  • List every level I have drawn on this symbol with its exact price.
  • Draw yesterday's high and low and label them.
  • Turn the level at the top of the range into a written trading rule with an entry and an invalidation.

Limits

Muse Code proposes chart changes and you approve each one in MyLinedChart. MyLinedChart never places, modifies or cancels an order; account access is read-only.

FAQ

Does the Meta AI app on my phone connect to MyLinedChart?

This guide covers Muse Code, which runs on your computer and can start local servers. The connector needs the MyLinedChart app open on that same computer.

Muse Code does not show the tools. What should I check?

Confirm the file still has schema_version, the entry sits inside mcp_servers, Node.js is installed, and you restarted Muse Code.

Can Muse Code trade through MyLinedChart?

No. Orders are read-only and no tool can place, change or cancel one.
