How to Connect ChatGPT Desktop to MyLinedChart
Step by step: add the MyLinedChart plugin to the ChatGPT desktop app so ChatGPT can read your live chart and propose drawings you approve.
ChatGPT can talk about your chart far more precisely when it reads the real numbers instead of a screenshot. MyLinedChart ships a plugin for the ChatGPT desktop app that gives ChatGPT a direct connection to the chart open on your computer: symbol, timeframe, candles, your drawn levels and indicators. This guide walks through adding it.
Before you start
You need the ChatGPT desktop app, signed in, on the same computer as MyLinedChart, plus Node.js, which the plugin's connector runs on. Plugins run inside the desktop app, so ChatGPT in a browser cannot use this connection.
Add the plugin, step by step
- Open MyLinedChart and leave it running.
- Open the ChatGPT desktop app and open its plugin directory.
- Search for MyLinedChart and choose Install. The plugin is published by Little Bird Trading LLC.
- Restart the ChatGPT desktop app if it asks you to.
- Start a new chat and ask: Read my chart and describe the setup.
- When ChatGPT asks to use the MyLinedChart tools for the first time, allow it.
- Back in MyLinedChart, the AI panel shows a green dot and AI connected with the app's name once the connection is live. If the dot stays red, quit and reopen the AI app with MyLinedChart running.
If MyLinedChart is not listed for you
Plugin directories roll out by plan and region. If the search comes up empty, connect Codex instead with the one command in How to Connect Codex to MyLinedChart. Codex uses the same connector and the same tools.
What to ask first
- Read my chart and describe the setup in natural language.
- List every level I have drawn on this symbol with its exact price.
- Draw yesterday's high and low and label them.
- Turn the level at the top of the range into a written trading rule with an entry and an invalidation.
What ChatGPT can and cannot do
ChatGPT reads your chart context, candles, drawings, indicators and trades, and can propose lines, zones, notes and indicators. Each proposal waits for you in MyLinedChart. MyLinedChart never places, modifies or cancels an order; account access is read-only.
