How to Connect OpenClaw to MyLinedChart
Step by step: add MyLinedChart to OpenClaw as a Stdio server from the Control UI or the openclaw mcp add command, then probe it and ask about your chart.
OpenClaw is a self-hosted agent you run yourself, and it can call tools from local servers. Adding MyLinedChart gives your OpenClaw agent a direct connection to the chart open on your computer: symbol, candles, drawn levels and indicators, with exact prices. OpenClaw must run on the same computer as MyLinedChart, because the connector talks only to the local app.
Before you start
You need OpenClaw installed with its gateway running on the same computer as MyLinedChart, MyLinedChart open, and Node.js for the connector. A gateway on a remote server cannot reach the app on your desktop.
Get the command from MyLinedChart
- Open MyLinedChart and click AI in the chart toolbar. If the AI panel shows a chat instead of the setup, click AI settings.
- Under Use the AI app you already have, the connect cards are listed. If an AI app is already connected, the cards are folded away: click Connect another AI app to show them.
- Find the Codex card and click Copy. Keep only the part after the two dashes: npx -y @mylinedchart/mcp-chart-context, or node followed by the connector path inside MyLinedChart.
Add it from the Control UI, step by step
- Open the OpenClaw Control UI and go to Settings > MCP.
- Under Configured servers, select Add server.
- Name: mylinedchart. Transport: Stdio.
- Enter the command (npx or node) and then its arguments, one per field.
- Save. With hot reload on, the server loads straight away; otherwise restart the gateway.
Or add it from the terminal
If your command is node with a path, the CLI form is openclaw mcp add mylinedchart --command node --arg "<path from the card>". Add one --arg for each argument. Then check it:
- openclaw mcp doctor mylinedchart --probe
- The probe opens a live connection and lists the tools. If it reports the app is not running, open MyLinedChart and probe again.
What to ask your agent
- Read my chart and describe the setup in natural language.
- List every level I have drawn on this symbol with its exact price.
- Draw yesterday's high and low and label them.
- Turn the level at the top of the range into a written trading rule with an entry and an invalidation.
Limits
Chart changes your agent proposes wait for your approval in MyLinedChart, even when OpenClaw runs unattended. MyLinedChart never places, modifies or cancels an order; account access is read-only.

How do I know the server works?
Run openclaw mcp doctor mylinedchart --probe. The probe lists the tools when the connection is good.
Can an OpenClaw agent trade through MyLinedChart?
No. Orders are read-only and no tool can place, change or cancel one.
